1.Bear Mountain |
Bear is definately one of the premeire ski/snowboarding resorts in the northeast. It recently opened a new Quad Lift Chair. In addition they have managed to drop the lift ticket prices from last year.

2. Shawnee |
One thing Shawnee does well is put people onto the mountain! Lift lines are unbelievably short, even on busy "school nights" when teens arrive in convoys of buses. Of course, this means congestion on the slopes! Avoid "Lower Pennsylvania", which is a gentle but narrow chute with a hairpin turn at the bottom. All the novices congregate at the entrance above and you fall over everybody on your way through.

3. Blue Mountain |
I have been skiing at Blue Mountain four times and it'sgreat. Everything from skiing to the view is excellent. I witnessed great snowmaking and grooming throughout the day and they can cover their mountain pretty fast. This definitely tops all other resorts in vertical, snowmaking, variety of terrain, and great food. You will find no lift lines at big Blue and uncrowded slopes. For families and people who love long cruising terrain, try skiing at the south end complete with lots of intermediate terrain.

4.White Face |
White Face Mountain in my opinion is one of the best mountains in the north east. It has a great set of double black diamonds, one of the toughest is a 15 foot straight down vertical drop. The only wait is the time it takes to get to the top of this very high mountain. It has a definate wide variety of trails and plenty of lifts. It is a 6 hour trip to get there but it is definately worth it to go, not only to go on the mountain but to visit the small town of Lake Placid

5.Killington |
Killington is definately ranked up high with the best resorts in the United States. It has the longest season in the United States, its season last from october till june. It has a total of 3,150 ft drop and an elevation of 4,241. It has about 95 miles worth of trails and 33 operating lifts. It is definately by far the most versatile mountain for begginers to experts.
